"Hush, you bee, hush!" Majka was waving her arms around and running from one corner of the room to another.
'What are you doing here, Majka? What are you afraid of?" Kaško asked.
"There's a bee flying around and it's sure to bite me! Kaško, please do something about it!" Majka begged, already hidden under the duvet.
"But you don't have to be afraid of bees. They don't want to sting you without a reason provided, of course, that they have no reason to do so." He tried to explain the workings of bees in brief.
'And so, why in the world are they then. After all, they only sting." Majka asked.
"Well, no! I'll take you to a place where they will explain the meaning of bees to you! Get out from under the duvet, we're going to Hrabušice!" Kaško commanded.
We will start our trip in the picturesque village of Hrabušice, where the unique Beehive Farm is located.How do bees live in fact? You will find this out. Wooden hives let you peek right into their kingdom, interactive instructional panels and games will instruct you a lot about the life of bees and you can relax in the apiary with the buzzing of bee wings. Move from the bees in the Slovenský Raj National Park to the LaborARTorium in Spišská Nová Ves, which is only 18 kilometres from Hrabušice. Here you will be reduced to the size of an ant. Don't you believe it?
Near the village of Hrabušice, in the former forest tree nursery, there are bees of paradise. You can get here from the Main Street, then turn onto the Obchodná Ulica street. The bees of paradise are located just outside the village.
From the village of Hrabušice, continue to Spišská Nová Ves, which is 18 kilometres away, approximately 20 minutes by car right to the LaborARTorium.
A unique apiary has only recently been built near the village of Hrabušice. The project called Bees of Paradise will introduce us to the natural way of life of bees. The complex includes beehives and interactive instructional panels, which will tell you what you may not have known about bees before. You will also find an apiary where you can listen to the buzzing of the bees and learn why one inhales "bee air" right from the hive.
In this unusual place, real experiments happen where you won't believe your eyes! In the experience gallery, you will meet the smallest animals, but you won't have to look for them with a magnifying glass - they will all be as big as you are, or even bigger! How is this possible? Is it a magic or just an optical illusion? Have you heard of shrinking and enlarging? Apparently, they can shrink you up to 530 times in the lab.
